RE: the Bridge of Lions
St. Augustine, FL

Dear Mr. Glenn,

Please allow me to lend my support to the Save our Bridge Committee's efforts to preserve St. Augustine's historic Bridge of Lions.

St. Augustine is unique in our state and our nation geographically, historically, culturally and socially. The Bridge of Lions is an integral piece of St. Augustine's architecture as it celebrates the beauty and historical elements of Florida. It is a critical visual entry to a city that thrives on tourism.

I support the efforts to save the bridge for future generations of Floridians and Americans. I urge the Department of Tranportation to pursue a restoration option for the Bridge of Lions. I believe regulatory and technical means exist to ensure pedestrian, vehicular and marine vessel safety without destroying the historic, architectural integrity of this wonderful landmark.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Patricia Northery, Chair
Volusia County Council Member At-Large
